Haiti Pictures

The first of many pictures.

Aftermath of the earthquake:
The Presidential Palace. Click on photo to see extent of damage.

A home.

Devastated church.

Homes on top of homes.

With patients:

This is one of the team's physicians, Bill, with Baby Christelle and sisters. Christelle was born on the streets of Port-au-Prince the day of the earthquake.

Pete with a young girl with cerebral palsy. Her mother had been carrying her around since she was a baby and did not know what her daughter suffered from. The day she and her family arrived to the clinic, a shipment of wheelchairs did too. From Mexico.

Pete with Myriam. She works as a translator and would like to come to the United States to go to school.

The team.

Many more to follow.

pete's story of the little girl whose mother had been carrying her without knowing her illness touched me because i have a child with special needs who is not mobile. yet here in america, we have a multitude of resources provided to charlotte at little or NO charge to our family. she has state health insurance in addition to our private insurance and receives multiple therapies each week, goes to project help preschool, receives nursing services so i can work or have a break, receives her special formula, and soon a wheelchair and stander - and here this woman has been holding and carrying this child for years. I cannot imagine the difference that simple wheelchair will make in her life. it is a miracle and a blessing.
even those of us who feel we are barely scraping by are so wealthy. this truly puts my life in perspective today.

Susan thank you for sharing Dr. Cobb's experience on your blog. I along with the Merck team kept him in our thoughts and prayers while he was in Haiti.
